How to install APK files on HTC Hero:

Install.apk on htc hero you can also try to this way:

a)download htc sync

it should be included in the sd card that came with your phone

b)download usb driver for windows

http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html

c)install both of these

d)now got to your phone

To install applications from other sources, you also need go to Settings -> Application Settings and enable Unknown Sources. Also go to Settings -> SD Card and Phone Storage -> Disable Use for USB Storage. You can enable it again later.

to be more specific

1)on your htc phone

go to settings>application settings

>check the box unknown sources

2>open the notification ared >if you have mounted your sd card to transfer files from pc pls unmount it

e)now open htc sync

f)you will see an entry appllication installer

g)select that

h)it will ask you to select the type of appllication(.apk) in this context)

i)check the box and click next and it will give you a wizard

j)run the wizard after browsing to the location of the application you have downloaded on your pc

k)once you are done with the wizard check your phone it will ask you to chose install or cancel

l)choose install and you are done
